How we operate
Atlanta-headquartered, distributed elsewhere. Everyone on the editorial team has a beat they own and a cadence they keep. We pay market; we offer real time off; we expect you to use it.
Reporters here have latitude. We trust you to pursue the story, make the call, and — when necessary — write the thing we won't publish because it wasn't right. The editor-in-chief reads everything, edits most of it, and will argue with you on the merits.
What we value
We write for people running the business.
You should be able to read an FDD, an income statement, and a multi-unit franchisee's P&L without needing a glossary open.
Named sources, primary documents.
Anonymous sources are rare and justified. We do not bootstrap other outlets' reporting.
Weekly cadence, not quarterly.
A good story filed in three days usually beats a perfect one filed in three weeks. We optimize for the first.
No vendor influence. No sponsor edits.
The publication is editorially independent from Revscale's commercial side and from every advertiser. Full stop.
Open roles
Freelance and contributors
We publish outside contributors, especially on opinion, legal analysis, and technical breakdowns of AI deployments. Standard freelance rate is $1.25/word for reported pieces; opinion columns negotiated separately. Pitch pitches@revscalemedia.com with a one-paragraph summary, the reporting you have already done, and a sense of timing.
